Temperature probes not detected

Hello,

We recently purchased a Sensorgateway with two external temperature probes. The temp probes worked out of the box with the included cabling, initially.

We then tried to use our own 10' cable but that didnt work. The led blinks on the probe, but never syncs with the gateway.

After plugging the original cables back into the probes they still do not sync.

The gateway has been rebooted, reset, left unplugged for a while, and the firmware upgraded to latest. Nothing seems to get the probes to sync to the gateway.

Can anyone suggest a fix? Or do we need to RMA?

Thanks

It worked with the original cables, then you put it your own 10' cable then it didn't work. Putting the original cables in afterwards didn't work either. Is that correct?

Can you confirm that the led's are still on or not?

It looks like an electrical issue coming from the cable. Does the 10' have a plastic or steel connector?

    Hello,

All of the cabling we have tried is standard straight-through ethernet with plastic connectors. There should be no conductivity outside of the actual pin-outs themselves.

We have verified with an ethernet tester that our cables pin-outs match that of the serverscheck cabling.

The temp probes continue to blink but do not show up on the unit's LCD or in the web menu. They appear to be getting power. The only sensor that shows is the built-in sensor on the gateway itself.

    Thanks

Sorry, didnt confirm your question. Yes, that is correct. It did not work with the original cabling after we tried a different cable and has not worked with any cable since, including the factory.

We will have to issue a RMA and inspect the units to see what the cause is electrical or not

An email will be sent with RMA instructions
