Setting up sms alerting on temp sensor

if I am configuring a remote sensor to send out sms alerts thru my homeoffice gsm cell phone, how do I do that?
do I enable the sms under the sms alert setting? as I do not want to use the sms alerting portal with uid and pin, right? they will charge me each time i send sms. I can already send gsm alerts for free thru my gsm cell. But then how do I configure the alerting. Turn off the enable sms?
