multiple alerts at alarm temp

Hi - we have our sensorgateways set to send an email (then on to an SMS) at a certain temperature point. (v4 and v5 firmware)

The problem we are having is that when the temperature is very near the alarm point we get lots (and lots) of alarms the the temp hovers around the alarm temp.

For example - the alarm is set to 30deg. The room temp goes to 30deg and triggers an alarm as expected. Then the temp goes to 29.99 and triggers and all clear...then goes to 30.01 and alarms ...then 29.99 and all clear

etc etc etc

suggestions ?

getting the alerts means that the threshold is met.

most obvious would be to solve your temperature issue as it hovers a lots (and lots) around that limit - which shouldn't be the case.

less recommended alternative is to increase the threshold - but really the only good solution is to solve your temperature issue

yes - but I think that's missing the point. The temperature issue isn't always a quick fix. This time it took several hours - meanwhile our team are getting SMS txts every few seconds.

Increasing the threshold isn't a viable option either - obviously.

ideally the sensorgateway would have some kind of alerting "hysteresis loop" - or at least an option to not send any more alerts until some kind of reset ?

As of now, no such options are available. The 2 options that you could use is to either calibrate the temperature value arbitrarily or ,as previously advised, adjust your thresholds accordingly.
