monitor_rule.exe running away

[Deleted User][Deleted User]

I am running as a service...

I have three instances of monitor_rule.exe running in my process manager and each is taking about 33% of the cpu.. is there any way to throttle this back a bit so I can use the machine for other stuff... all day long it is at 100%

There is currently no way to throttle this back. We recommend to use Enterprise MX editions on dedicated machines.

One way to reduce CPU usage though is to reduce the graphing frequency as this takes up quite some CPU.

I am not seeing rddtool as the problem it is monitor_rule.exe that is killing the processor...

The monitoring_rule also creates the graph jobs (the RRDtool executes them). Not having to prepare that data is already a small gain.

We are considering in a future release to add the option to set freeze seconds so that it allows to rest for a time before starting again.
