What is the "Serial" column mean in "Wireless Information" of Sensor Menu?

This column contains the serial numbers of sensors?

We have temperature sensor

but in "Serial" column in "Wireless Information" for this sensor value is "WT--0185". It is correct?

We have 15 sensors with such problem. We set names for sensors in column "Name" but after restart SensorGateway (V5, FV : 5.07) name is set automatically for different sensors.

The serial numbers are different which is due to our inventory system. To track your wireless sensors, after initially adding them, rename them on the "Sensor Status" page.

If a reboot would be needed, do it via the web page. In that way, the configured names would be retained.

Would it be possible to save name configuration ?

If gateway is powered off, we lose all names. It's a very big bad point if there is a power problem.

Monitoring is done with SNMP, and we can check it just with names, not with serial. So we lose all logic...

Have you a solution or tips ?

Due to dynamic memory being used, power is assumed to be continuously flowing throughout your infrastructure. Also, the names would only be lost if power failed for a long time.

Our R&D confirmed that it has been added to the development queue and that it will be addressed in a future firmware release. Keep an eye on the release notes.

I have received an update that we are aiming towards a release in March / April of the requested feature
  • AdministratorAdministrator
It is still in the queue but not indeed not in release 5.11

Any chance this fix was implemented in 6.0?

Still waiting for this March/April fix...September now...

A fix is already being developed and is slated for the next set of firmware updates
