Error information is empty for SMS and Email Alerts

Hi All,

We are getting empty error information in our SMS and email alerts. May we know what needs to be enabled/configured to the Serverscheck checked Network Monitoring Software? We are using v16.4.0.

Our s-alerts service is running as per other forum discussions.

Here is the example notification.

Status of Temperature Rack 1 changed to WARNING at Mon Sep 28 09:41:25 2020.

    Hi Admin,

May we have an update on this issue?
  • PocholloPochollo
The error you guys are encountering does not happen on my end, and here i thought it is a possible bug with the latest update.

Software version I'm using is 16.4.4

I suggest you attach the logs here so people or the admin can examine what is happening with your software.

here is the link I found for creating those logs/debug mode

    RackSensor

Thank you for your feedback, We will forward this over to our technical team for review.

    Hi Admin,

    Any update on this issue?
  • adminadmin
    RackSensor

Can you provide information how your software is set up what email configuration / SMTP settings you are using.. as our tech team told us this is a possible issue with the email provider.. as they have tested to work on Gmail and our free mail server along with internal mail (provided network is configured correctly) .. this is so they can replicate what you have as this issue does not happen to everyone
  • RackSensorRackSensor
We are using SMTP as the Mail Server, I can confirm Serverscheck is sending the email properly to the SMTP servers.

We had some multiple alerts recently and we noticed that one of the alert for our Rack 20 have the error info.

Here are the example of the alerts:

    Without Error info:

Status of Temperature Rack 20 changed to WARNING at Tue Oct 13 10:21:03 2020.

    Error:

    With Error info:

Status of Temperature Rack 20 changed to WARNING at Tue Oct 13 10:19:26 2020.

Error: 36.56 (returned value) > 36 OR 36.56 (returned value)

Is there any service we need to look at further?
  • RackSensor

Does the error happen to you on every alert? or only on specific alerts?
Our team is now trying to replicate what is happening to your software.
  • RackSensorRackSensor
The issue is intermittent. From the observation, majority of the alerts will have no error value. There is no specific alert that is causing this issue.
  • OhMySensorOhMySensor
    How often does this happen?
  • AdministratorAdministrator
    edited November 2020
Release 16.4.8 addresses an issue where the alert reason for Warning alerts would not be shown
  • RackSensorRackSensor
OhMySensor - this happens most of the time when we have temperature alert.

Administrator - will update our version to the latest and test out.

    Thanks.
