Check Frequency and Retries

I have a URL check setup with the # of Retries set to 4 and the Check frenquency set to 120 seconds. I thought that this would send out an email alert after 4 failed checks at 120 second intervals (~ 6-8 minutes) However, the email alert seems to be going out after only 2 minutes. ('Alert When' is set to 'Only when down') Am I missing something? Thanks!

    When a check fails and you have set retries then it performs them one after another (so not with the interval). The retries is intended to make sure that for example a temporary network issue does not influence the outcome of a check.
